For the very first time while working for Metal-Revolution I'm going to review a live album. This is the Italian icons Rhapsody first live album ever. It has been recorded at the Metropolis in Montreal/Canada on June 14, 2005. From the very beginning you can hear that Fabio Lione has a strong contact with the audience. He makes sure that everyone understands what's his telling. He speaks in English, French and Italian. The production is as clear as it should be, and the band is playing the songs very close to their original versions. The band plays with the crowd, and the fans respond in every given occasion, giving a taste of the atmosphere. You can also hear some orchestra which gives the album an extra atmospheric touch. Even though it is traditional Italian power symphonic metal I like it a lot, because there are a lot of variations and diversity in their approach when performing their biggest hits live. Live in Canada 2005 – The Dark Secret will be released in two configurations: as a CD format that features the complete Montreal show and as a limited edition CD package that will include a bonus DVD that contains exclusive behind-the-scenes-material.
